HR Generalist

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team, with a primary focus on full-cycle recruitment and leave of absence management, including FMLA, TDI, and ADA. The ideal candidate will also support core HR functions such as onboarding, employee relations, HRIS data entry, compliance, and reporting.
This position will contribute in the following ways:
Recruitment
- Build proactive sourcing strategies and maintain talent pipelines for recurring or business-critical roles.
- Develops and executes targeted marketing strategies for open positions, including defining metrics to reduce time-to-fill.
- Lead full-cycle recruiting for assigned roles: job postings, screening, interviews, offers, and onboarding.
- Participate in job fairs.
- Partner with hiring managers to develop job descriptions and recruitment strategies.
- Maintain and manage applicant tracking system (ATS) and ensure a positive candidate experience.
- Coordinate background checks, pre-employment screenings, and onboarding paperwork.
- Track recruitment metrics and provide regular hiring status updates.
Leave Management
- Administer and manage employee leaves of absence including FMLA, TDI (Temporary Disability Insurance), ADA accommodations, and other applicable leaves.
- Serve as a point of contact for employees with leave-related questions and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Coordinate documentation, approvals, and tracking of leaves with appropriate stakeholders (internal and external) and payroll.
- Maintain accurate leave records and follow up on return-to-work processes.
General HR Support
- Provide day-to-day HR support and respond to employee and management inquiries.
- Assist with employee relations, HR compliance, and internal audits.
- Support and maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HRIS.
- Support benefit administration, open enrollment, and employee communications.
- Participate in HR projects, process improvements, and training initiatives.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2–5 years of HR experience, including direct experience in recruitment and leave management.
- Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and other applicable labor laws.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS/ATS systems.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification
